Melanie is originally from Chicago, IL and grew up in Ladson, SC. She currently resides in North Charleston, SC with her dog, Ruby. She holds a Bachelor of Science in biochemistry from Queens University of Charlotte as well as a Master of Science in environmental studies, a Master of Public Administration, and a graduate certificate in urban planning from the College of Charleston. For her day job, Melanie works as a data exchange analyst for Benefit Communications, Inc. She celebrated 10 years in the benefits administration industry in 2024.

Melanie has been a commissioned Notary Public for the State of South Carolina since August 2017. She is a member of the National Notary Association and enjoys keeping up to date on the applicable laws and best practices in order to provide professional, accurate and reliable service to her clients. Having been a notary for 8 years, Melanie is pleased to offer her services in a mobile capacity to the place she has called home for decades.

In her spare time, Melanie is a member of the Summerville Orchestra and Charleston Concert Band playing the flute and piccolo.
